Claes Oldenburg Retrospective

2021
Button, clothes peg, lipstick, matches, needle and thread, safety pin, shuttlecock and stamp

In the Centre of Ulm on the Münsterplatz a bronze miniature to scale model of the city can be found. With this model a homage to Claes Oldenburg was made using everyday items all sourced from shops in Ulm. Each object used is a real functioning version of one of Oldenburg’s giant sculptures. The placement of the real items within the miniature environment has generated the same surreal enlarged scale relationship that Oldenburg creates with his art works and their surroundings.
