Standing where a Tree Stood
2022
To stand on a tree stump is to stand in the exact location where a tree once grew. To be in a space which was solely occupied by a tree, possibly for hundreds of years. Through this open ended activity participants can find a tree stump themselves and take part in the ritual. Whilst on the stump consider time, how long the tree took to grow, how old you are, how long you wish to stand there and in doing so connect with nature and contemplate the concept of time.
To take part in ‘Standing where a Tree Stood’ please submit a photograph along with the following information: age of the tree (count the rings), name and age of the person standing and send it to mail@helmutsmits.nl
